We Do Not Kill Honey Bees

If you have an established honey bee colony, that is a job for a beekeeper and we will help you find one. Two reasons.

Honey bees matter, and we do not treat anything that puts them at risk, which is also why we do not offer mosquito spraying.

And practically, killing a colony inside a wall leaves you with abandoned comb and honey in your structure, which is a far worse problem than the bees were. It seeps, it stains, it ferments, and it attracts everything else.

Carpenter Bees Are a Structural Problem

Most people treat carpenter bees as an annoyance because they hover and they do not usually sting. The problem is what they are doing to the wood.

They drill into fascia, deck rails, eaves, and any unpainted or weathered exterior wood, then tunnel along the grain. The same wood gets reused and extended year after year, and woodpeckers open the tunnels further going after the larvae. Left alone for several seasons this becomes a repair bill.

Treating them is straightforward. Ignoring them is not free.

Spraying a nest from the ground gets some of the insects and agitates the rest. Yellow jacket ground nests in particular react badly, and people get stung repeatedly trying to back away from something whose extent they cannot see.

Height is the other issue. A significant share of the injuries from this are not stings at all. They are ladder falls.

We do this with the right equipment, we get the whole nest, and we treat the location so it does not get reused.
